The proposed Phase II expansion may accommodate 10 to 15 ITeS firms," an official source with Elcot said. "The preparation of the DPR for deciding the layout, office space for each unit, and other amenities has begun.

"Companies are unwilling to invest in establishing their own office space but the demand for built-in office space in the IT Park is increasing," an Elcot official said. "Though it is late, the proposed project will help established ITeS firms to expand their operations to Trichy.

The Electronics Corporation of Tamil Nadu (Elcot) has started preparations for a Detailed Project Report (DPR) for phase II of the Trichy IT Park following a spurt in demand for more office space from Information Technology enabled Services (ITeS) companies.
