Safety campaign at Tiruchi Junction

On the eve of Deepavali, the Tiruchi railway divisional authorities conducted a safety awareness campaign at Tiruchi Junction here on Tuesday appealing to passengers to desist from carrying crackers and other inflammable articles on trains.

Divisional Railway Manager, Tiruchi P. Uday Kumar Reddy, supervisors and safety counsellors distributed pamphlets containing safety-related messages to passengers on board the Chennai-bound Vaigai Express and those travelling on the Chennai –bound Cholan Express. The pamphlets also contained other safety messages such as desisting from boarding and alighting trains which were on the move; avoiding footboard travel and trying to cross level crossing gate when it was closed.

The handbills were also circulated to passengers at the waiting hall and those on the platforms, a Southern Railway press release said.
