Cauvery reaches Ammamandapam

The discharge of waters from the Mettur for the ‘Aadi perukku’ festival is being realised at the Ammamandapam bathing ghat in Srirangam bringing cheers to the devotees and pilgrims at the temple town.

The waters was realised at the check dam in Kamabrasampettai around 11.30 p.m. on Thursday.

The flow of water currents resumed five to six hours later, after the check dam got filled up.

Delighted on seeing the water, the tourists started taking a dip in the Cauvery.
