NIT Trichy tops all the NITs in the Outlook Survey 2014

NIT Tiruchirapalli, NIT Surathkal, NIT Warangal, NIT Rourkela, and NIT Hamirpur are the top 5 NITs of India, according to the Top Engineering Colleges of India list published by Outlook as a result of its ‘India’s Top Professional Colleges 2014′ survey.
IITs and BITS Pilani grabbed the top 8 ranks of the list with IIT Delhi at the top, followed by IIT Bombay, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Madras, IIT Kanpur, IIT-BHU, BITS Pilani and IIT Guwahati – in that order.
NIT Trichy was ranked #9 in the overall list but it was right at the top of the other NITs. National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirapalli was rated a bit better than IIT Bombay in ‘academic excellence’ and did better than IIT Madras on ‘personality development’ scale but it was left behind the IITs when it came to infrastructure and placements.
NIT Surathkal was ranked #10, NIT Warangal was ranked #11, NIT Rourkela in Odisha was ranked 14th while NIT Hamirpur was ranked at #20.
IIITs that made it into Top 20 Engineering Colleges included IIIT Hyderabad ranked at #13, and IIIT Allahabad.
Other engineering colleges in Top 20 include Neta Subhash Institute of Technology (NSIT), New Delhi ranked at #12, PSG College of Technology at Coimbatore ranked at #15, JNTUH College of Engineering at Hyderabad ranked at #16, College of Engineering in Pune was ranked at #18, Manipal Institute of Technology was ranked at #19.
