AI Express service on Tiruchi-Mumbai sector

The Air India Express has decided to withdraw its weekly service to Thiruvananthapuram from Tiruchi and instead operate it to Mumbai with effect from October 5.

The Boeing aircraft which has been positioned in Tiruchi, consequent to the introduction of direct services to Singapore and Kuala Lumpur, was being operated on the Tiruchi-Thiruvananthapuram sector on Tuesdays. The aircraft was being sent to Thiruvananthapuram for regular maintenance. However, due to “engineering reasons” the aircraft would now to be sent to Mumbai for the maintenance, airline sources told The Hindu.

Consequently, the aircraft would be operated on the Tiruchi-Mumbai-Tiruchi sector on Tuesdays. The flight will depart from Tiruchi at 11.30 a.m. and reach Mumbai at 1.45 p.m. In the return direction, the flight will leave Mumbai at 7.30 p.m. and arrive at Tiruchi at 9.45 p.m.

Sources indicated the Air India is likely to operate services to Muscat from Tiruchi soon. The frequency of the service is yet to be finalised.
