AYUSH Club at GH to offer holistic treatment

With a view to providing holistic treatment for patients opting to undergo treatment under Indian systems of medicine under a single roof, an AYUSH Club has been floated at the Siddha wing of Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Government Hospital in Tiruchi.

Patients can avail consultation and treatment at the Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homeopathy (AYUSH) Club. Specialists in all the five disciplines will be available at the Club from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. every Friday.

Patients suffering from various diseases for a prolonged period can become members of the club free of cost. Priority will be given for club members to undergo specialised treatment procedures. “Currently, specialists of different Indian systems of medicine offer consultation to outpatients at the hospital separately. On Fridays, all of us will be present together to offer consultation to patients. This way we can decide on the best suited and available treatment for individual patients under the five different systems,”said S.Kamaraj, District Siddha Medical Officer.

Apart from offering scientific treatment under the different medicinal systems, the club would also promote the concept of ‘prevention is better than cure,’ Dr. Kamaraj said. Counselling on food and lifestyle changes and yoga training would also be offered through the club.

Patients can avail treatment for paralysis, spinal cord disorders, degenerative diseases, rheumatic pain, hyper tension, heart ailments, obesity, asthma, polycystic ovarian disease, skin ailments, gall stones, kidney stones, renal failure and infertility at the club.
