Council secretary S Pushpavanam said in a memorandum that passengers should be be made to walk the least distance. As of now, they were forced to alight from their vehicles and walk 100 metres additionally. Moreover, the battery car too was expensive at Rs 30 per head. Instead, the fee could be Rs 3 per person and Re 1 for an item of luggage.

They were planning to provide an escalator to platform numbers 4 and 5 along with the foot over bridge which was under construction. "Regarding parking lot, we don't have the money to provide another multi-level parking area. If the contractor is overcharging, we will take action", he said adding that they would erect more boards for display.
He also clarified that the battery car from the bus stop to the entrance of the platform was free and that Rs 30 was being charged to traverse from platforms 1 to 7. He appealed to the public to keep the station and the trains clean and not to harm railway property.
