Dividers in Trichy to get new look

 Trichy City Corporation, along with youths, here has taken up the cleaning-cum-beautification of arterial centre median in Trichy. Youths instead of spending time in celebrating new year parties have planned to indulge in painting works on Saturday and Sunday.
The centre median in Bharathidasan road branching from Head Post Office (HPO) signal and concluding near Trichy Corporation Office with multiple median openings has been taken up for the beautification work. As a part of two-day long drive, on Saturday morning, a portion of the kilometre long median close to HPO was given a coating of primer. "Bharathidasan road is a busy stretch accessed by several officials and tourists visiting the city. By refurbishing the stretch, beahvioural change can be imparted to Trichiites as well as visitors," Parthiban Chelliah, a volunteer involved in weekend painting work said.

The cost of painting the centre median in Bharathidasan road was borne by Trichy Corporation. Official sources said that similar drives could be extended to other parts of the city.
