NEET training centres to function twice a week



THE 25 government competitive exam coaching centres out of 412 selected across the State would function twice a week from 9 am to 5 pm. In a circular, the Joint Director of Vocational Education in-formed the timings to Chief Educational Officers (CEOs) of 25 districts in Tamil Nadu, excluding Nilgiri, Nagarkoil, Karur, Madurai, Nagapattinam, Sivaganga and Tiruchy. The remaining CEOs would be notified in less than 15 days' time, said an Educa-tion Department source. The School Education Department has sent a mail to all concerned CEOs on work schedules of the centres in their respective districts. Instructions said train-ing centres would function on the weekends- Saturday and Sunday
The students would be taught competitive exam methods, including NEET and the All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE)syllabus from 9 am to 5 pm on the two days The Joint Director said eight teachers brought in to provide training at these centres should be used based on need. Remuneration for them would be notified in the next circular. The CEOs were asked to keep a regular check on devices provides to the centres, including screens, speakers and mikes to ensure they are in working order. The coaching provided would be interactive. Headmasters of respective schools have been ad-vised to check candidates who have applied for the programme and must confirm their presence.
