Chennai, Trichy airports receive 11% of foreign tourists who visited India in June

Image result for international passengers arriving at trichyAround 11% of foreign tourists, who visited the country in June, landed at Chennai and Trichy airports in Tamil Nadu.
Chennai ranked third among the international airports in India in receiving foreign tourist arrivals under the e-tourist visa category.
The Union tourism ministry compiles the monthly estimates of Foreign Tourist Arrivals (FTAs) and FTAs on e-tourist visa based on data from Bureau of Immigration (BOI).
According to an official statement, Delhi and Mumbai airports secured the first and second positions with 22.16% and 14.98 % FTAs in June.
Chennai airport received 9.06% of the international travelers, and the airport in Trichy recorded the visits of 1.93%foreigners.
As far as e-tourist visas are concerned, Chennai airport recorded 10% of the total number of the travellers from overseas under the category.
The statement said a total of 67,000 tourists arrived on e-tourist visa during June, 2017.
