Be prepared to pursue risks and face failures, management students told

Muthukumar was addressing the gathering at the inaugural ceremony of the 7th batch of PGPM and 6th batch of FPM programmes at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), at the National Institute of Tech
nology (NIT) Truchy campus, on Tuesday He also urged the students to face the failure once in their life without losing, as it will make them stronger to tackle any problem. "The programme offers an experiential laboratory and this is the place where you would conceptualise, introspect, and learn out of it and try to experiment. This journey would give you vic-tory without rewards and if it has been a reality to you, then you will be prepared to begin a journey victory would also be re-warded," Muthukumar added. Kumar Ramanathan, CEO and MD of Positive Integers, who was the guest of honor at the programme, said that the recent development in the globe is digitalisation itself. He said, "There is something in the corporate world
called a ladder and I would advise you all to keep it away from now on. You are not going to have any ladders in careers One needs to look outside for the next doors of wisdom by learning." Bhimaraya Mehl, Director of IDA, said, "The PGPM course was started in 2011 here and owing to high demand in 2016, the number of seats have been increased from 120 to 180. "The KM stands 7 th out of the 20 in National Institutional Ranking Federation (NIRF) 2017. The institute packed with 36 renowned faculties is to get additional nine faculties soon." After the inaugural ceremony, the students of PGPM 2016-18 batch were felicitated for their academic achievements with 'Meritorious Awards'. The students who stand first every term were awarded certificates.
