Jet airways daily service for Abu Dhabi from 1st Feb
Jet Airways will introduce a second daily service between New Delhi-Abu Dhabi, from 15 January, followed by the a daily flights between Tiruchirappalli (Trichy) and Abu Dhabi, from 1 February
Jet Airways, India’s second largest airline, is going to further boost connectivity between India and United Arab Emirates with three new services to Abu Dhabi starting next year.
Beginning 2017, Jet Airways will add 28 flights per week and connect three new Indian cities to the rest of the world via its hub in Abu Dhabi.
Jet Airways will introduce a second daily service between New Delhi-Abu Dhabi, from 15 January, followed by the a daily flights between Tiruchirappalli (Trichy) and Abu Dhabi, from 1 February.
“The announcements echo the friendship and strong bilateral relationship that exists between India and the UAE and represent ways in which Jet Airways, together with Etihad Airways, are working to enhance the value for our guests by leveraging synergies across our mutual networks in the form of greater choice, conveniences and comfort,” said Gaurang Shetty, whole time director of Jet Airways.
Jet Airways wants to further capitalize on the strong traffic flows between southern India and the Gulf via UAE and beyond.
Jet Airways also intends to commence daily flights to Abu Dhabi from Kannur, which will be its fourth destination from Kerala, from the upcoming international airport, as well as Chandigarh-Abu Dhabi daily flight during the second half of 2017.
“Abu Dhabi serves as a convenient air bridge between India and rest of the world,” added Gaurang.
The addition of these new routes and frequencies will further strengthen Jet Airways partnership with Etihad Airways. In 2015, the Jet along with Etihad, carried 3.3 million passengers between India and Abu Dhabi, a 63 per cent increase over the 2 million passengers flown in 2014.
The new announcements will extend the cooperation between Jet Airways and Etihad Airways to cover 18 destinations in India from the current 15.
Simultaneously, the expanded cooperation will also result in an increase in the combined number of the flights offered by the partners to 280, from the current 252. Even the freight market to and from India will be enhanced through the additional capacity, supporting the 14 weekly freighters operated by Etihad Airways cargo to five cities in India.
