A 1,077-acre site has been identified at Kannudayanpatti, K.Periyapatti (North) and Chathrapatti villages near Manapparai for setting up the proposed industrial park of the State Industries Promotion Corporation of Tamil Nadu (SIPCOT). The State government, in June 2013, had announced that a SIPCOT industrial park would be established in Srirangam constituency at a cost of Rs.107 crore. Work is currently under way for acquiring land for the project. District Collector K.S.Palanisamy inspected the site on Tuesday, an official release said.
