BHEL badminton court gets facelift
The renovated badminton court at the Community Centre in Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) Township here was inaugurated by A.V. Krishnan, Executive Director, BHEL, Tiruchi, on Monday.
Renovated at a cost of Rs.15 lakh, the court has wooden flooring. Mr. Krishnan also felicitated the participants of the BHEL inter-unit tournaments. The teams from BHEL, Tiruchi, emerged winners in athletics, cricket, football, kabbadi, volleyball and finished second in basketball, carom, and lawn tennis.
G. Ramakrishna, president, Community Centre and General Manager, Outsourcing; S. Karunakaran, General Manager, Modernisation, were present at the inaugural function. Mr. Krishnan partnering Mr. Karunakaran played a friendly doubles match against Mr. Ramakrishna and H. Wilfred Simon.
