BHEL bags INR 4,015 crore order from Hindalco

PTI reported that Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited has bagged a INR 4,015 crore from Hindalco Industries for supplying boilers, turbines and generators at its 900 MW captive power plant in Orissa.

Company statement said “BHEL has secured a INR 4,015 crore order from Hindalco Industries for the supply and erection of main plant package at its upcoming captive power plant at Sambalpur district of Orissa.”

It said the order comes on the heels of an order placed on BHEL by Hindalco recently for a similar main plant package for its captive power plant at the Singrauli district of Madhya Pradesh.

However, the equipment for both the projects will be manufactured and supplied by BHEL's manufacturing units at Trichy, Hyderabad, Bhopal, Bangalore and Ranipet.

The erection at the Singrauli project would be undertaken by BHEL's Power Sector Western Region, Nagpur and the company's Power Sector Southern Region would take up the Sambalpur project.
