largest Heat Recovery Steam Generator in BHEL

TIRUCHI: The Chairperson of Central Electricity Authority (CEA), Rakesh Nath, inaugurated the Valves Capacity Augmentation Scheme in Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), Tiruchi, on Wednesday.

Accompanied by A.K. Gupta, Chief Engineer, CEA, Mr. Nath, as part of his two-day visit to review the capacity augmentation arrangements made for expansion and to assess the facilities created for the supercritical boiler manufacturing technology, went around the production shops.

He was shown the new modern machines installed under second phase capacity expansion of the unit.

Mr. Nath also inspected the largest Heat Recovery Steam Generator (HRSG) module manufacturing facility that was recently inaugurated at BHEL, Tiruchi, and congratulated BHEL, Tiruchi, for its innovativeness in setting up the nation’s prestigious Once Through Supercritical Test Rig.

He complimented the people involved in making the Test Rig a reality, saying: “This would go a long way in understanding the fluid behaviour under supercritical conditions.”

Mr Nath sat through an extensive presentation made on BHEL’s strengths in the field of engineering and manufacturing.

After the review, Mr. Nath expressed confidence that BHEL was fully geared up to meet the 11th and 12th Plan requirements with respect to nation’s power equipment manufacturing.
