Symposium (SOJOM 2008) will be organized at the bharat heavy electricals in Tiruchirapalli from December 11 to 13 this year.

Along with this, a concurrent materials joining Exhibition will be held from Dec 11 to 14 in BHEL,Tiruchirappalli complex, T Thiyagarajan, General Manager, Welding Research Institute (WRI) at BHEL Trichy told

SOJOM 2008, the sixth edition of the event, is being organised by two premier welding organisations- the Welding Research Institute, BHEL, Tiruchirppalli, the only one of its kind in the Asia pacific Region and Indian Welding Society (IWS), Southern zone.

About 98 technical papers from renowned welding organizations from India and abroad will be presented in the symposium.

The focus at the symposium would be structural fabrication, pressure vessels, tanks and high temperature power plant applications, shipbuilding, automobile and transport field, non-ferrous materials, surfacing, heat treatment methods, welding metallurgy, safety and environment issues, HR and related issues.
