Trichy IT Park fully booked.

The up coming IT Park at Trichy spread across 147 acres of land near Navalpattu village is booked in full by BPOs and IT companies. According to sources from ELCOT (Electronic Corporation of Tamil Nadu who is the promoters of the park) two major IT companies and about 15 BPOs would occupy the park in full complement as the first phase of the project.

The IT major CTS (Cognizant Technology Solutions) and Sutherland Global Services are the two top ranking companies slated to occupy major share of the land and ELCOT was already in the process of handing over the site to Sutherland and the substantial land had been year marked to CTS.

Besides the above the predominant occupants of the park would be BPOs numbering about 15 each allocated areas of 2 acres and above.

Simultaneously ELCOT would be organizing to construct built up space of 15000 square feet in the first phase and as well two million square feet built up area at a site of 50-acre area in the park as a joint venture with the private entity.

It already reported that the IT Park at Trichy had inherited the status of special economic zone with a gazette notification by Government of India and the ELCOT board had formerly approved for the construction of internal roads and other amenities at an outlay of Rs.25 crores.

ELCOT was also preparing a budget for the construction of a perimeter wall for the park and it was waiting for a hundred feet link road to be handed over by the state highways along the Trichy – Pudukottai highways.

It was clearly known that the postponement of unveiling the IT Park project at Trichy is getting delayed since ELCOT was keen to market Tirunelveli and Salem before embarking on capturing adequate occupants at Trichy since Trichy being geographically accessible in Tamil Nadu, agog with air connectivity etc thanks to the modernization of the airport which was very close to the Navalpattu Park near Trichy.
