Residents feted for eco-friendly garbage disposal

The Corporation on Wednesday honoured seven residents for their role in eco-friendly garbage disposal.

Glori Violin Mary of Venkateshwara Nagar, Kottapattu, Ward 35; T.N. Vasuki of Ayyappa Nagar, Ward 38; and R. Natarajan of Win Nagar, Ward 63, who registered their names using Smart City Mobile Apps, were chosen on lot basis to receive the prize of one gm gold coin each, for carrying out home composting effectively.

Ritsika of Nadutheru, Mannarapuram, Ward 43; Bhavani of Sethurampillai Colony, Ward 33; R. Ramanujam of Snamuganagar, Ward 53; and Jawahar of Venkateshwara Nagar, Kottapattu, Ward 36 were honoured with an electric kettle each for segregation of bio-degradable and non bio-degradable waste at source. The prizes were handed over by the civic body chief.
