Training for aspiring entrepreneurs given under TEDP at NIT-T

Trichy: The six-week long technology-based entrepreneurship development programme (TEDP) for aspiring entrepreneurship at the National Institute of Technology (NIT), Trichy, concluded on Tuesday, while equipping 20 participants to start their own ventures.
Aspiring entrepreneurs between the age group 22-45 years participated in the even organised by the Centre for Entrepreneurship Development and Incubation (CEDI), NIT-Trichy.

The training programme was modelled for manufacturing and services sectors to enable aspirants choose from a range of entrepreneurial activities viable in their respective areas.

Sharing their experiences at the valedictory ceremony, the trained aspirants said that TEDP has given them confidence to start their entrepreneurial journey.

One of the participants, Sakthivel, a college teacher by profession, has developed 2D solar cell. The training programme had helped him plan for further project commercialization.

Participants Gajalakshmi and Karthik, working on the herbal napkin manufacturing, said the training programme made them think on upgrading their manufacturing with state-of-the-art technologies.


While interacting with participants, Mini Shaji Thomas, director of NIT-Trichy, encouraged them to fully utilise the facilities at the institute and wished them success in their business ventures.


She emphasized the need for encouraging entrepreneurial skills and stressed participants to become entrepreneurs in the district and create jobs rather than seeking.


The TEDPs are generally aimed at providing lessons on motivational inputs, managerial inputs, performance improvement as well as business cum sector specific technology development training to the participants.
