Last date for submission of applications

The last date for submission of applications for admissions to the 6-month certificate course on First Aid and Safety Management offered by the Department of Lifelong Learning of Bharathidasan University is September 30.

The classes with demo and practical components on first aid and safety management are handled by teachers and experts of St. John Ambulance Association, Red Cross, and government agencies. The classes are conducted at the Khajamalai campus of the university in the city. The students studying in colleges and university departments can do the programme concurrently. Essay competition

The Indian Space Research Organisation Propulsion Complex (IPRC), Mahendragiri, has announced an essay writing competition for high and higher secondary school students as part of the World Space Week celebration.

The contest would be conducted separately in Tamil and English for students of class six to 12 in two categories. The topic for the juniors (class 6 to 9) is ‘Space Tourism (‘Vinveli Suttrula’for the contest in Tamil).’ For seniors (class 10 to 12), the topic of the contest will be ‘United Colony in other planet’(‘Vettru Grahathil Ondrupatta Kudirruppu’).

Students of all schools, except wards of ISRO employees, from Tamil Nadu can participate in the contest. The essays must be neatly handwritten by the participant on A4 size paper not exceeding 2000 words. All entries should be sent with a covering letter with the name of the participant, age, class, school address, parents name, residential and school address, along with the contact phone numbers. Entries should also be certified by head of the institution. Entries should reach the Administrative Officer, IPRC, Mahendragiri Post, Tirunelveli District, Tami Nadu – 627133 on or before October 1.
