To sustain Tamil Nadu as an attractive investment destination, the state-owned SIPCOT will soon establish two industrial parks at Manaparai near Trichy in about 1,077 acres and another on 720 acres in Tindivanam taluk. "The government has sanctioned 96 crore and 52.5 crore respectively for carrying out infrastructure work in the two industrial parks, which combined will generate employment opportunities to 10,000 people," chief minister Edappadi K Palaniswami told the state assembly on Wednesday.
In addition, the state-owned SIDCO will establish an industrial park for small industrial units at Alathur village near Tiruporur. The park, which is Phase II development of an existing industrial park, will come up in about 70 acres of land and is being promoted at an estimated cost of 84 crore, the CM said.
The government also plans to unveil a new five-year policy for Startups and Innovation.
CM increases incentives for MSMEs to Rs 30 lakh

The policy, to be in effect for a five years (2018–2023) will help young entrepreneurs and boost technology development, the chief minister said.
The move will not only help turn individuals with passion for technology and innovation into entrepreneurs, but will also help the state achieve 11% growth in SGDP, as projected in the Vision 2023 Policy of the Tamil Nadu government, he said. “Such innovations could even help the state effectively achieve banning use and throw plastics by coming up with degradable alternatives,” chief minister said.
Making a suo motu statement, Palaniswami said the government is also keen to address the issues faced by the MSMEs units in Tamil Nadu. The state will establish a promotion agency for MSMEs, besides addressing their approval and other concerns through an online portal. The state also has increased the incentives offered to MSME units to Rs 30 lakh, from the present Rs 25 lakh.
