Jus Festum 2018 brings legal fraternity together

The inter-university legal festival ‘Jus Festum 2018’, organised by the Tamil Nadu National Law School (TNNLS), Tiruchi, recently attracted participation of 143 students from 17 universities and colleges across the country.

The event, organised over three days by the Legal Aid Committee and the Constitutional Law Society of TNNLS, served the purpose of enhancing the application of legal knowledge and aptitude of law students.

The first day of the festival witnessed events such as Quiz, RTI Drafting, PIL Drafting, and Poster presentation.

The second day started with translation of judgement to Tamil and Hindi from English, Minority Opinion Justification, Client Counselling, Crime Scene Investigation and Constitutional Assembly Debate.

The final rounds of the respective events took place on the third day.

Madras High Court advocate Sanjay Pinto took part in the valedictory function and handed over prizes to winners in the presence of the Vice-Chancellor of TNNLS, Kamala Sankaran.

‘Take up issues’

In his address, Mr. Sanjay Pinto urged the students to take up issues concerning the public through PILs and writs.

G.V. Anand Bhushan, partner, Chennai Head of Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas, who addressed the participants at the inaugural session, highlighted the importance of keeping oneself updated with new developments in law and giving one’s best regardless of the circumstances.
