Bharathidasan University planning to publish results within 10 days of completion of semester exams

 Bharathidasan University is planning to announce results within 10 days of the completion of the semester examinations, scheduled to be held in May. In the previous years, the university took more than a month to announce the results.
The university has decided to double the number of evaluation centers to accelerate the evaluation process and thereby to announce the results within 10 days.


Besides, two deputy controllers of examination have been appointed -- one will manage evaluation of answer sheets of students in affiliated colleges while the other will look after evaluation of answer sheets of distance education students.
Semester exams will get over by end of May. Last year, the results were announced at the end of June. In 2016, the results were announced in mid-July
The delay in knowing the results inconvenienced students, especially final year students who want to go for higher studies or to take up jobs.
Speeding up the exam evaluations will give the university weightage in the NAAC accreditation process. “Publishing semester results within 10-12 days of the completion of exams has special weightage during the NAAC accreditation process. By increasing the evaluation centers, we will ensure that the results are published within 10 days,” said under vice-chancellor P Manishankar.
