Surveillance stepped up at Tiruchi airport

Security and surveillance have been stepped up at the Tiruchi international airport in the wake of an alert from the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) for extra vigil during the holiday period till New Year.

Checking of passenger belongings and frisking of travellers have been intensified at the Tiruchi airport.

The CISF, entrusted with the task of providing round-the-security at the airport, has also intensified surveillance at the city side of the airport.

A striking reserve team has been mobilised to act in times of an emergency situation at the airport.
