Now, pay tax dues to Corporation online

City residents can henceforth pay their tax dues to the Tiruchi Corporation at the click of the mouse from the comfort of their house. The Corporation on Monday announced that property and professional tax dues and water and underground drainage charges can be paid online.

Corporation Commissioner N.Ravichandran, in a statement issued here, said that the State government had created a new portal to enable people to pay their tax dues to Corporations and Municipalities online.

Accordingly, residents in the urban local bodies can log on to https://tnurbanepay.tn.gov.in to make the remittances. Residents have to register initially to create their user ID with password. Upon registration, a one-time password (OTP) would be sent to the registered mobile number or email address of the resident concerned using which the account can be activated.

Remittances can be made through net banking or using debit or credit cards, Mr.Ravichandran said. Remittances towards rentals for leased properties can also be made online. Queries, if any, regarding making the online payments can be emailed to the Corporation officials. Alternatively, residents can call the Corporation office to clarify their doubts.

Residents can also download birth and death certificates free of cost from the website. They can register complaints with respect to shortcomings in the services of the Corporation through the website and keep track of the action taken over their complaints.
