Quiz on metals and materials enrollment on July 16
A quiz for juniors will be held for students of classes 9 and 10 from English-medium schools. Schools can send nominations to both the events in prescribed format, which can be downloaded from www.iimtiruchy.org
In a press release, Raman Sankaranarayanan, Chairman, Indian Institute of Metals, Tiruchi, said the quiz will be conducted in three stages. The preliminary written round will be held in seven regional locations in Tiruchi, Karaikudi, Neyveli, Sankar Nagar, Mayiladuthurai, Madurai, and Karur. The top performers of the round will be selected for the oral quiz to be held August 6.
Schools would be divided into two zones and top two winners of the oral rounds from each zone will receive cash prizes of Rs. 5,000 and Rs. 3,000 respectively. Besides, the top two teams will quality for the finals of the Brahm Prakash Memorial Materials Quiz with prize money of Rs. 50,000 to be held at the Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research (IGCAR), Kalpakkam, in September, the release said.
The travel and accommodation for the winners taking part in the contest at Kalpakkam will be arranged by the chapter.
