Prince Jewellery on expansion mode

With the launch of its third store in Chennai, Prince Jewellery is on an expansion mode and has plans to launch four more stores in the Southby the end of the year.

The jeweller is looking at Coimbatore and Tiruchi in Tamil Nadu, and locations in Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Telangana for further expansion. . Each store will involve an investment of ₹35 crore.

Apart from Chennai, the jeweller has one store each in Thiruvananthapuram and Bengaluru.

Digital advertising
Speaking to media persons, Joseph Prince, Director, Prince Jewellery, said with many people consuming news through apps, the company will work with media houses on digital advertising and promotions. It will utilise 1.5 per cent of its revenue of ₹675 crore for this purpose.

New online platform
To tap online shopping potential, a revamped online platform will be launched in April. “One of the main reasons we are not very active now is that designs can be easily copied. We are working to eliminate this possibility before the launch in April,” he added.

Prince said one of the new trends is the shift towards diamonds and precious stone collections, driven by millennial. “Young workforce has more disposable income and is willing to spend. In the recent times, we are seeing young people shifting towards diamonds and precious stones jewellery,” he added.
