Entrepreneurship awareness camp in power looms and ready made garments sectors at Manamedu(Thottiyam)
The Entrepreneurship Development and Innovation Institute (EDII), District Industries Centre and the Tiruchi District Tiny and Small Scale Industries Association (TIDITSSIA) would host an entrepreneurship awareness camp at Manamedu in Thottiyam taluk on May 27.
Persons above the age of 18 who wish to take up entrepreneurial ventures, especially in power looms and ready made garments sectors, can participate in the camp, S.Punniyamoorthy, Secretary, TIDITSSIA, said in a press release.
The camp would be held in phases. In the first phase on May 27, participants would get information on starting self-employment, selection of projects, support available for potential entrepreneurs from government, banks and financial institutions. They would be briefed on schemes and policies of the government. Expressions of interest would be collected from the participants.
It would be followed by a seven-day, business model and business plan preparation camp for those who have identified a project and are ready for initiation. Those who want support in selection or project and business opportunity guidance would be selected for a paid four-week long entrepreneurship development programme.
Trainees who complete the programme would be extended support in raising funds through various schemes or other avenues. Those who opt for subsidy-based schemes and get sanction for the same would be exempted from mandatory training requirement, he said.
