HCL Technologies has launched Tech Bee, an early career training programme for Plus Two passed students, and would enrol candidates for the programme in the city on June 2 and 3.

Under the programme, Plus Two students with Mathematics or Business Mathematics as one of the subjects with an overall marks of 85% (80% for CBSE Class XII students) are eligible to enrol for the year-long training at the HCL centre in Madurai with a monthly stipend of ₹10,000. Students who have passed out in 2016 and 2017 are eligible.

Students who wish to enrol for the programme would be given counselling before an entrance test. The training would offer a combination of academic training for nine months and on-the-job training for three months, said Srimathi Shivashankar, Vice President, HCL Technologies, addressing a press conference on Monday.

On successful completion of the training, the trainees would be absorbed by HCL. The students would also have the option to pursue higher education in software engineering or an integrated masters programme in information technology in the second year of their employment.

“We are reaching out to the Plus Two students, who are looking to take up jobs or earn while studying or just be financially independent. It will help students with early career aspirations to become self-sufficient and also pursue higher education. The programme will prepare the trainees technically and professionally for jobs in software engineering with us. The first batch of the programme was launched in Madurai and Lucknow last month,” Ms.Srimathi said.

About 100 candidates are to be enrolled for the programme from Tiruchi and Madurai. Interested candidates can walk in for the enrolment at Hotel Sangam on June 2-3. For details, dial the toll-free number 180027425 00
