LED illumination at Night for Rockfort Temple

The Rockfort in the city was set aglow on Friday being illuminated with LED lamps. The historic structure has been provided with flood light illumination at an expenditure of Rs. 1 crore. Ninety-six LED lamps have been installed to illuminate the Rockfort.

This apart, a telescope has been set up at an expenditure of Rs. 1.95 lakh at 16-kal mandapam near the Sri Uchi Pillaiyar temple. Visitors to the Rockfort could take a view of city from atop through the telescope.

Vellamandi N. Natarajan, Minister for Tourism and S. Valarmathi, Minister for Backward Classes Welfare, inaugurated the flood lights and the telescope in the presence of K. S. Palanisamy, Disitrict Collector, C. Kalyani, Joint Commissioner of HR and CE were present.
