NIT-T wins entrepreneurship award

The National Institute of Technology-Tiruchi has won the High Impact Entrepreneurship Campus award, which was given to honour institutes which exemplify the highest levels of excellence in pursuit of the entrepreneurial mission to develop, and move entrepreneurs to fulfil their goals.

G. Kannabiran, Centre for Entrepreneurship Development and Incubation (CEDI), a company promoted by NIT Tiruchi, received the award at a programmed organised by National Entrepreneurship Network (NEN) in partnership with Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE), Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India (EDII).

The award seeks to provide models of excellence for fellow faculty and encourage the faculty to continue to improve the entrepreneurial pursuits of the country through their teaching, mentoring and scholarly creative activities.

Commenting on bagging the award, S. Sundarrajan, Director, NIT-T, said it would motivate the institute to promote innovation and entrepreneurship culture among the students and enable business innovation. It would continue to focus with newer initiatives in the near future. Mr. Kannabiran said the award was the recognition for the institute’s wide ranging activities spanning the entire value chain entrepreneurship development.
