Four temporary bus terminuses for Trichy

The city police along with the transport department have planned to set up four temporary bus terminuses in the city to manage the rush during Diwali. The temporary arrangement will come into effect from Thursday night and will go on till Monday (4-11-2013).

Major locations like railway junction second entrance, Milaguparai bus depot, Khadi Craft near the railway junction and Vestley School Grounds have been chosen for setting up the terminuses. The buses have been given exclusive routes to reach their points and hence, the officials have requested the passengers to reach the selected points for boarding as the buses would not be commuting via the main bus stands, namely Chatiram and Central.

Pudukottai buses will be taking a route along the head post office from the TVS toll gate and would reach the Khadi craft and exit via Viralimalai junction through Mannarpuram. Similarly, the Thanjavur buses will be entering the city through the TVS tollgate. It would then go to Khadi Craft and enter the second entrance of the railway station where the passengers will be dropped. Then it would exit via the Viralimalai through Mannarpuram.

Madurai, Thanjavur and Kanyakumari buses will be taking the Mannarpuram- Viralimalai- Aristo Roundtanna, route and would reach Milaguparai depot after which it would exit via the same route. Coimbatore, Tirupur and Karur buses will be stopping at Vestrey School grounds. Similarly, Chennai, Salem, Dindigul and Palani buses will all be passing through the central bus stand.

The police have also issued guidelines to the omni bus drivers in the city. They have been instructed to ply within their limits and park the vehicle in their usual place instead of entering the bus stands.
