NIT-T chosen for Obama-Singh Awards

The National Institute of Technology-Tiruchi (NIT-T) is among eight institutions in the country to be selected for the Obama-Singh 21st century Knowledge Initiative Award. The NIT-T will receive $ 2,50,000 for its project in collaboration with the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, U.S. The Obama-Singh award is an initiative to foster educational partnership between India and the U.S. by strengthening collaboration between American and Indian institutes of higher education.
Research groups
Called Cognitive-based Curriculum Development Tool for emerging areas of computer engineering and management studies for improving teaching-learning process, a research group from NIT-T comprising A. Vadivel, associate professor of Department of Computer Applications and M. Punniyamoorthy, professor, Department of Management Studies and Dr. Henry Selvaraj and Laxmi P. Gewali and research students will be partners from the U.S institution.
Other Indian universities who have bagged the award are St. Johns Research Institute, Bangalore, Aligarh Muslim University, University of Pune, Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore, Annamalai University, Assam Agricultural University, and Avinashilingam Institute for Home Science and Higher Education for Women
