AirAsia offers cheap tickets for 2014 at Rs 4000
No frills Malaysian budget carrier AirAsia has thrown open bookings for two million seats, offering tickets to South East Asian destinations for as little as Rs.3,300.
Tickets can be booked between April 2 and 7 for travel from January 1 to April 30, 2014. The airline has
announced “zero rupee” fares to Indian cities on international routes within Asia, which means passengers will have to pay on airport charges and fuel surcharge.
What this means is that one can fly from Kolkata to Bangkok for Rs.3,300, Chennai to Bangkok for Rs.3,500, Bangalore to Kuala Lumpur for Rs.5,500, Kolkata to Kuala Lumpur for Rs.5,000, Kochi or Chennai to Kuala Lumpur for Rs.4,500 and from Tiruchirapalli to Kuala Lumpur for Rs.4,000.
AirAsia and the Tata Group recently got the government’s nod to start an airline in India.
“Free seats….two million promo seats available tonight at midnight,” AirAsia chief Tony Fernandes tweeted.
“Free seats to Malaysian destinations, Penang, Alor Setar, Johor Bahru, Kota Bahru, Terengganu and more are also available from Kuala Lumpur,” an official said.
