US firm hires NIT computer graduate at annual pay of Rs 70 lakh
A US-based company has hired a NIT-Tiruchirappalli computer science
and engineering graduate at an annual package of $1.25 lakh (about Rs 70
lakh), a senior faculty of NIT-T has said.
"There has been a significant increase in annual average salary in campus placement at NIT Trichy. The average package for UG candidates is Rs. 6.25 lakh as against Rs 5.5 lakh last year. NIT-T clinched 100% placement for UG candidates. It was over 80% for PG candidates.

About 20% of the PG candidates had gone for research and higher studies

Last year, a UG candidate was offered $1.08 lakh. For three consecutive years, NIT- T students have been bagging the highest annual pay packages in the country, he claimed.
Over 240 corporates, consisting of PSUs, MNCs, IT, manufacturing, banking and consultancy numbering had visited the institute for the placement exercise.
NIT-T director Srinivasan Sundararajan said the institute was in the process of recruiting over 100 faculty members.
The 8th convocation of NIT-T will be held on Saturday.
