CII launches educational excellence forum
The Confederation of Indian Industry–Tiruchi Zone has
launched its Education Excellence Forum (EEF) constituting eight member
institutions in the region.
R.Nandini, chairperson,
CII Southern Region Education Sub-Committee, launched the forum as part
of the CII’s Southern Region Education Initiative. As a follow-up to the
EEF’s maiden launch at MAM College of Engineering, the initiative will
be extended to other zones, she said.
The member
institutions constitute Care School of Engineering, Jayaram College of
Engineering and Technology, Hallmark Business School, MAM College of
Engineering, MAM College of Engineering and Technology, MAM School of
Engineering, Periyar Maniammai University, and Roever Engineering
College.
The objective of EEF is to address core
components of education: faculty, student and curriculum, through the
prism of industry to improve employability quotient.
A
year-long activity with a top to bottom approach will provide
tailor-made solutions and recommendations for a synergised outcome.
The
approach will enable students to align their learning practices with
industry requirements and equip themselves to meet dynamic changes in
the economy directed at reviving the nation’s growth trajectory, a CII
press release said.
The faculty module will encompass interaction and knowledge sharing on best practices, and workshop sessions with industry.
Research
will be encouraged through cyberspace discussion groups, working papers
and publication, besides participation in real life projects related to
industry issues.
For faculty, the forum will
provide opportunities to leverage technology and get involved in
research and consultancy to make their outcome contemporary.
The
student module will reflect in industry interactions and exposure to
discipline-wise streaming guest lectures, preparation of test bank,
personality development and career counselling with industry outlook,
along with ethics and social responsibility.

forum, the release said, will facilitate curriculum connect through
round table meetings between education and industry representatives, and
refer its recommendations to academic boards of studies and appropriate
