IIM-T to start new PG Courses

The new IIMs (Indian Institutes of Management) are introducing innovative courses that will address the requirements of larger community as well as distinguish new IIMs from the older IIMs brand. The IIM- Rohtak, Raipur, Ranchi, Udaipur and Trichy are developing models that will rely on IIM brand image as well as advantages of location.

The PGP program will remain the flagship program of these institutes but emphasis will also be laid on a series of initiatives developed as per the individual competence of these IIMs. These initiatives range from centers of excellence in fields such as resource management, energy management and education management to programs in areas of socio economic importance such as public policy, public health and manufacturing management.

IIM Trichy is planning to explore areas of socio-economic significance. It has proposed for introducing a 1 year full time program in manufacturing management in association with IIT-Bombay. The program will aim at grooming the bright engineers with atleast 5 years of experience to opt for crucial roles in manufacturing. The institute is also planning to commence a Center for Education Management which will take care of the requirements of the profession by carrying out research work and offering consultancy and counseling services to academic institutes.
