Line maintenance service opened at airport

Air Works has been certified by the Civil Aviation Authority, Singapore, to provide line maintenance services for Airbus 320 aircrafts at the Tiruchi airport.

The company has bagged a contract from the Singapore- based Tiger Airways to conduct transit checks on its aircrafts at the Tiruchi airport.

The airline operates four flights a week on the Singapore-Tiruchi-Singapore sector. The company was hoping to bag a few more contracts from other airlines.

The line maintenance facility, equipped with stores and required manpower including engineers and technicians, would conduct the transit checks on the Tiger Airways aircrafts on its arrival here as per the required standards.

The facility at the airport was declared open on Tuesday by the Airport Controller S.Dharmaraj in the presence of Arvind Chauhan, Deputy Commandant, Central Industrial Security Force, Tiruchi, and other Airports Authority of India officials.

According to a company press release, Air Works provides base maintenance to its customers for Airbus 320 series, Boeing B737 Classic/NG and ATR 42/72 aircrafts at its maintenance, repair and overhauling facility at Hosur.

Air Works provides aviation services qualified to maintain 42 types of aircrafts for over 80 customers across 12 maintenance locations.
