BIM joins National Entrepreneurship Network

The Entrepreneurship Cell of Bharathidasan Institute of Management (BIM), Tiruchi has joined the National EntrepreneurshipNetwork (NEN).

The membership document was signed by the Director N.Bala Baskar and handed over to S.Jagannathan, Consultant, Coimbatore Region of NEN, on Thursday. Sixty five E-members and 12 E-leaders from the Institute have registered themselves with NEN.

NEN represents India's largest and most dynamic community of new and future high-growth entrepreneurs, with over 70,000 members in 30 cities. It partners with over 470 top-tier academic institutes in India to help them develop vibrant entrepreneurship ecosystems on campus, which develop and support new and future entrepreneurs, according to a BIM press release.

Mr.Jagannathan later conducted an Orientation Programme for the first year students and explained that MBA graduates were best suited to become entrepreneurs as they inculcate all the skills required to become a successful entrepreneur during their course of study.

Quoting Nandan Nelekani, he termed entrepreneurs as the ‘change agents' of the society. Entrepreneurs, he said, were highly influential in the nation's progress and in ensuring inclusive growth. He outlined the benefits for students by virtue of being part of NEN. Student members can have access to resource persons, incubation centres, workshops and learning material. Apart from these, budding entrepreneurs will also be able to get seed funding from angel investors and venture capitalists who are associated with NEN. NEN would add value to the students by conducting a number of seminars and workshops designed to provide them a platform for experiential learning.

The E-Cell has plans to conduct a series of events and activities in the coming months for fostering the spirit of Entrepreneurship within the campus, the release said.
