KAPV Medical college to offer Six new PG programmes

The K. A. P. Viswanatham Government Medical College here has plans to launch six new post-graduate programmes, three each in non-clinical and clinical disciplines.

The college was awaiting a nod from the Directorate of Medical Education for its proposal for starting PG courses in non-clinical disciplines of Bio-Chemistry, Pathology and Micro-Biology, and in clinical disciplines of Psychiatry, ENT and Superspeciality Neuromedicine, A. Karthikeyan, who recently assumed charge as the College Dean told ‘The Hindu' on Monday.

He said that the college has proposed to start urology and plastic surgery departments.

The college has also approached the government for doubling the intake for the post-graduate seats in the obstetrics and gynaecology, and paediatrics.
