Tiger Airways flies to South Indian city of Trichy from November 2010

Tiger Airways has announced new flights to another South Indian city - Trichy from November 2010.

This will be Tiger Airways' third destination in India besides Bangalore and Chennai and tickets are on sale now, for travel between November 1 and March 26 next year.

There will be four flights weekly on every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.

Rosalynn Tay, managing director, Tiger Airways Singapore, said, "We are pleased to expand Tiger Airways' low-fare offering to the world's second most populous country.

“Tiruchirappalli, or Trichy, is not just a destination in its own right. It also serves the vast hinterland of South India, being centrally located in Tamil Nadu. As the only airline to fly direct from there to Singapore, we offer travellers much greater convenience and valuable time savings in addition to our famous low fares."

Trichy is a major city and district located right in the centre of Tamil Nadu.

It is popular with tourists for its rich ancient culture and architecture.

Trichy is home to monuments such as the world's largest temple complex and the oldest man-made dam.

Trichy is also served by modern infrastructure including an international airport, as well as roads and rail that connect it with the rest of Tamil Nadu and India.

Tiger Airways is also increasing flights to Chennai from 11 times weekly to twice daily.
