New Integrated Collector's office

he State Government has sanctioned Rs.12 crore for the construction of an integrated Collectorate complex for Tiruchi.

The issue of the government order, sanctioning the funds and approving the construction of the Collectorate, has cleared the decks for the works to commence soon.

The integrated complex, with about one lakh square feet of office space, would come up in the existing Collector’s office campus.

The complex would be built on about 25 acres and the district administration would annexe the adjoining lands currently held by the Tamil Nadu Electricity Board and the State Transport Corporation, Pudukottai. After Electricity Minister Arcot N.Veerasamy cleared the handing over of about five acres of the TNEB land about a month back, the district administration moved in swiftly to allot an alternative site for the agency at Edamalaipattipudur in the city.

“About 6.5 acres of land has been allotted for both the TNEB and the Transport Corporation. We have given the enter-up permission to the alternative sites for the two agencies,” Collector T.Soundiah said.
