CII - ENERGEX 2008 Trichy Generates business enquiries worth Rs. 400 crore

Trichy: The second edition of Energex 2008 - a three day Energy Excellence Exhibition organized by Confederation of Indian India (CII) - Trichy Zone from 26-28 September 2008 has generated business enquiries worth Rs.400 Crore and attracted over 5000 business visitors from all over the country.

Exhibitors felt that the event provided them the right platform to showcase the latest products / technologies in the energy equipment / fabrication sectors to prospective domestic and overseas clients. Enquiries generated were predominantly from large power plants, wind mills, boilers and heavy fabrication manufacturers for sourcing components and services in the energy equipment and fabrication sector.

For the business visitors, the exhibition was a one-stop-shop for solutions in power generation, energy conservation, renewable energy and a sourcing platform for energy equipment products, accessories, wind mill equipment, heavy fabrication components, transmission & distribution equipment and advanced tools used in fabrication, welding and paint industry.

Mr Senthil Annamalai, Chairman, CII Trichy Zone said, "the objective of Energex 2008 was to showcase the potential of Trichy Zone as the major engineering hub in the Indian sub-continent and needless to say that exhibition had proved to substantiate that Trichy is the Energy Equipment and Fabrication Capital of India".

In the words of Mr. Shiv Das Meena, IAS , Executive Director, Tamil Nadu Electricity Board who Inaugurated the Expo earlier, "Energex 2008 is a world class exhibition, a comprehensive afoot by CII covering all the disciplines of energy generation and related segment."

Mr P V Kannan, Chairman, Energex 2008 said "Energex 2008 exhibition concluded on Sunday with substantial business enquiries worth about Rs 400 crore, phenomenally surpassing the business generation of Rs 200 crore garnered in Energex 2005, the first edition of the Exhibition."
