New IIM at Trichy

The centre will set up three universities including a world class university at Coimbatore in Tamil Nadu. The other two universities to be established in the state are the Indian Insititute of Management at Tiruchirapalli and a central university at Tiruvarur.
Union Human Resource Development Minister Mr Arjun Singh in a letter to the Chief Minister Mr Karunanidhi requested the state government to provide land free of cost for setting up the universities
