Srirangam temple receives holy ‘vastrams’ from TTD

Holy silk ‘vastrams’ were presented to the Srirangam Sri Ranganathaswamy temple here by top officials of the Tirumala Tirupathi Devasthanams (TTD) on the auspicious occasion of ‘Kaisika Ekadasi’ on Thursday.

The Executive Officer of Tirumala Tirupathi Devasthanam, Anil Kumar Singhal, accompanied by Joint Executive Officer K.S. Sreenivasa Raju and staff, presented the ‘silk vastrams’ to the Srirangam Temple Joint Commissioner, P. Jayaraman, at the shrine in the morning.

The holy ‘vastrams’ were presented to Sri Ranganathar (moolavar), Sri Namperumal, the processional deity, Sri Renga Naachiar (Thaayar) and Sri Ramanujar, temple authorities said.

The ‘vastrams’ were taken in a procession in the shrine from Sri Renga Vilas Mandapam and presented to the temple officials. The TTD officials, who were honoured by the Srirangam temple authoritiess, later offered prayers at the shrine.

The holy vastrams are presented to the Srirangam temple by the TTD every year on ‘Kaisika Ekadasi’ day.
