Employees of Central government undertakings, particularly those in the banking sector, expect the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS), New Delhi, to expedite the process of constructing permanent buildings for the newly-started Kendriya Vidyalaya at Golden Rock.

The Railways had, earlier in the year, handed over about five acres of land for construction of the permanent building at a location easily accessible from Jail Corner bus stop along the Tiruchi-Pudukottai National Highway, and the KVS had also determined suitability of the site on the parameters of approach road, drinking water and power availability subsequently.

The school has been functioning since its start from 2016-17 out of a temporary building with nine rooms. The Vidyalaya Management Committee, parents said, was keen on ensuring early construction of the building in order to expand intake capacity substantially.

The KV in Golden Rock is in the list of schools where permanent buildings were being planned by the Central Public Works Department, Chennai, according to an official document. Of the 42 Kendriya Vidyalayas in Tamil Nadu, seven are in project sector, and 31 have permanent school buildings.
