Seats up by 25 percent for admissions in IIM Trichy this year

TRICHY: There will be 25 percent increase in the total number of seats for admissions in Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Trichy this year.

IIM was planning to increase the total number of seats from 180 for the post graduate program to 210 this year. "With the inclusion of 10 percent quota for economically weaker upper-class quota, total number of seats would go up to 263. This will result in an increase of 25 percent in total number of seats in IIM this year," said Director IIM Trichy Bhimaraya Maitri on Friday.

Speaking during the interactive session organised at SRM hotel in Trichy for the outgoing students of the institute with the freshers, he said there are sufficient classrooms and other academic infrastructure.

IIM is all set to get international accreditation from Association of MBAs (AMBA) - a global organisation focuses primarily on international business school accreditation and membership.

Once we get the accreditation, we will be able to partner with universities overseas opening doors for global collaboration, said Matri.
