New path for vehicles to reach Viralimalai temple

A new path will be laid on Viralimalai hillock where a Murugan temple is situated to enable devotees reach the shrine by vehicles, Health Minister C. Vijaya Baskar said on Tuesday.

The construction of the path costing ₹4.5 crore will commence soon, Mr. Vijaya Baskar said after inaugurating various developmental works executed in Viralimalai assembly constituency at a cost of ₹85 lakh.

Basic amenities are being provided to the people of Viralimalai constituency and due action will be taken to implement the demands made by public.

The Minister laid the foundation for establishment of a direct procurement centre for paddy to be constructed at a cost of ₹35 lakh by Tamil Nadu Civil Supplies Corporation at Ennai panchayat in Annavasal block.

The paddy procurement centre will enable farmers to directly supply to the procurement centre without any interference of brokers and a sum of ₹19 for every kg will be deposited in their bank accounts, he said.

Collector S. Ganesh and government officials accompanied the minister, an official release said.
