TRICHY: The Trichy city police have announced traffic diversions in Srirangam from 8pm on Monday till 2pm on Tuesday in view of the Paramapatha Vaasal opening ceremony at Sri Ranganathaswamy temple -- to be held as part of the ongoing Vaikunta Ekadasi festival -- in the early hours of Tuesday.
Three temporary parking lots were identified to prevent traffic bottlenecks.

Police sources said city buses from Chathiram to Srirangam will be diverted via Odathurai Road, Chennai-Trichy NH, Kollidam Flood Bank Road, Singaperumal temple and Gandhi road to reach Srirangam bus stand.

The city buses should take Amma Mandapam Road, Mambalasalai and Melachinthamani to return to Chathiram bus stand from Srirangam.

However, there is no change in the route of mofussil buses plying from Trichy to Perambalur, Ariyalur and Thuraiyur.

Visitors with entry passes should reach the temple via Kollidam Flood Bank Road and north tower.

Similarly, visitors from Thanjavur, Madurai, Salem and Chennai cities were told to park their vehicles at the parking lot near Yatri Nivas and at Moolathoppu.

Tourist buses entering Srirangam from Karur should be parked at National College School near Anna statue.

Autorickshaws carrying aged devotees should take East Chithirai Street via Devi theatre to reach temple.
